Leather Wood Bodies, 2013, a collaboration between Jessica Akerman and Morven Mulgrew. Made with the support of a-n New Collaborations Bursary 2013.

Gas cylinder moulds, veg. tan leather hides formed over gas cylinders using the technique, cuir bouilli.

Exploring the crossovers in our practices, Morven Mulgrew and I explored the cuir bouilli technique of boiling leather and moulding it onto objects to create sturdy objects. We also explored marquetry, working with a range of veneers and decorative techniques. Here are a few sample images of our experiments.
